What can we expect when we choose to move toward God in quiet trust? There is a blessedness that attends the faithful follower of Christ that is delightful to behold. Choosing the alternative of sweet faith is always worth it in the end. Sweet faith trusts the providence of God. When we seek to find our refuge under the wings of God, we can be sure that He is working behind the scenes in ways that will astonish us. A significant part of God’s provision of God, found in the second chapter of Ruth, is through a man named Boaz (Ruth 2:3) His name is found 18 times in chapters 2-4. …… Interestingly, Ruth’s name is only found 12 times in the entire book. God brings a man into Ruth’s life who believes in the God of Israel the way she does and who is not afraid to say it right there in an open field to the people who work for him. As we move toward God and His people, He will bless us with the fellowship of people who love Him. God is more than able to meet our obedience and humility with abundant grace. God’s provisions are a reminder of better things It is delightful to think about Ruth and Naomi enjoying this incredible provision from the hand of God, this is an example to us that we can find our own sustenance in a bountiful relationship with our loving Lord. While God does not promise us material prosperity and wealth, He does promise to go before us and provide direction and strength if we will obey His Word. Love, not constraint, is the basis of our obedience and will lead us to the contentment we long for and the rest we need. Choose this day to rest in the promises of His Word.
