Did you ever wonder why you did what you did? Colossians 2:8 says, ” Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.” We do what we do because we want what we want and we want what we want because we think what we think. We all have a world view, the question is what is it, and how did I obtain it. What is a World View? A world view is the set of beliefs and fundamental aspects of reality that ground and influence all one’s perceiving, thinking, knowing and doing. Everyone has a world view, whether they know it or not. Yet, most people do not sit down and attempt to develop on, we build it anyway. You see our world view is the lense through which we see and interpret the world around us. A Biblical World View is an overarching view of the World based on God’s revealed truth found in the Bible. The understanding of God’s Word shapes our beliefs about God, creation, humanity, moral order and purpose. We need to beware of how we shape our thinking, because that thinking will determine the choices we make in our lives. Invest in reading the Word of God, to make wise choices in your life.
