The book of Revelation is not only a book proclaiming judgment and displaying the wrath of God, it is also a book that depicts a wonderful scene in heaven, and one of the glorious events that is mentioned is found in Revelation 19:6-10! Here we are invited to see the loving ceremony which will usher in that long-awaited event – the second coming of Christ. The marriage supper of the Lamb is a glorious celebration of the marriage of Jesus to HIs Bride the church. Having been presented glorified, purified, and spotless before God’s throne, the Bride is made ready to be presented to her husband. The blessed truth that God will be in personal fellowship forever with all the redeemed saints of all the ages is so significant that the angel who showed John these things, say “Write: Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb! … These are true words of God.” (Revelation 19:9). The book of Revelation is more than a book if judgment and mystery. It is “the Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants.” (1:1). One of the key overriding factors that grows out of this letter, is that God is in control of all things that are happening. Many times we get caught up on the details of the book, and we do not see the big picture. We are reminded at the very beginning of this book, that it was given by Father to the Son to show His servants. In Revelation 1:3, there is a blessing presented to all who read and hear the words of this prophecy, and keep these things which are written in it, being reminded that the time is near. Many people from our community are looking for ways to get financial support to those who can help with the Ukrainian refuge situation. We at Millersburg Baptist Church have become aware of the need for funds through a mission agency we support, Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (ABWE). We are taking a love offering this week to send to help meet the needs of Ukrainian refugees.
