A Job Well Done – Matthew 25:21

by Jim Jamison

The freedoms that we enjoy today, are built upon the shoulders of many who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for that privilege. What has made this a great nation is not just the power of our nation, but the willingness of so many to sacrifice for the country. Unfortunately, we are losing our sense of pride for a nation, who has stood as a beacon of freedom and truth in a dark world. If we loos this sense of pride, the value of our nation will continue to decline and a voice of truth will be silenced in the world. Our satisficing in service is not deemed valuable because of the recognition of the sacrifice, but in the personal satisfaction of a job well done. Many serve not for those they do not know, but for the people who stand to their left and right. Brothers and sisters in arms who depend on the sacrifice of their compatriots to accomplish their intended objectives. The goal of all who sacrifice is characterized in the parable of the talents, told by Jesus in Matthew 25:21. by Jim Jamison

Memorial Day is an important day in our country. It is the day we honor the sacrifices of men and women who serve our country. Unfortunately, Sacrifice has become a dirty word in our society. We need to talk back he battle for this word. We need to learn to appreciate what others do for us, and express that by saying, “Thank you, for your service!” In S2 Corinthians 12:15 Paul writes to the church at Corinth, “I will very gladly spend and be spent for your souls; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved.” we need to understand that a sacrifice is something we do willingly. The motivation may not be country, the motivation may not be the service entity, but the motivation is always seen in the men and women whoa re sacrificing beside you. The motivation is our love for the faces that we see in our minds that cannot do this work themselves., but need us to provide this service for them. You never serve to get, but you serve to give. the amazing reality is that when we sacrifice out of love, we gain some amazing benefits, which we often … READ MORE

Becoming alive in Christ – Ephesians 2:1-10

by Jim Jamison

To encourage believers who doubt the power of Christ in their lives, Paul, In Ephesians 2:1-10, reminds them that if God was powerful and loving enough to give them spiritual life “together with Christ,” He is certainly able to sustain that life. When we become Christians we are no longer alienated from the life of God. For the firs time we can understand spiritual truth and desire spiritual things. Not only are we dead to sin and alive to righteousness through His resurrection, but we also enjoy His exaltation and share in His preeminent glory. The purpose for this position, is “in order that the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 2:7). When we accept the finished work of Christ on our behalf, we act by the faith supplied by God’s grace. Human effort has nothing to do with it, and thus, no one should boast, as if they had any part in that salvation. Although good works have no part in gaining our salvation, they have a great deal to do with living out our salvation. God saves us to serve, not to sit!!!! (James … READ MORE
