God is Good – Psalm 118:1

by Jim Jamison

Psalm 118 opens us with a command to “give thanks to the LORD” This sets the tone for this Psalm and reminds us that as a command we are to look for things to praise the Lord about. There are two reasons for us praise the Lord: One, he is good – God does nothing that is not for His glory and our good. Not only will we build a desire to read the Word of God, but we will work hard at modeling the implementation of God’s word in our daily lives. God can use us as He used Loic, a grandmother, ion Timothy’s life. Walk in God in sincerer faith. Use His Word to lead your children and grandchildren to the same sincere faith and to train them in God’s ways. You will … READ MORE

by Jim Jamison

Mothers influence their children in so many ways. One of life’s greatest blessings is to have a godly mother, and one of the greatest gifts you can give your children is to BE a godly mother. Sadly, the influence of our current culture has caused the status of motherhood to decline. Women are encouraged to find fulfillment outside of the home. In 2 Timothy 1:5 we learn that Timothy’s faith came to him through his grandmother, Lois, and his mother, Eunice. Through faith in God and by honoring His Word, we are reminded that godly mothers have great influence as they train their children. Remember that our world is impacted each generation by the children we are raising today!… READ MORE
