Jesus: two in one?

by Jim Jamison

One of the real mysteries of the incarnation is how could two different natures exist within the same person? Would not one nature be dominated by the other? Would not each nature have to surrender some of its qualities in order for each to coexist beside each other? Could Jesus be truly God and truly man at the same time? These are some of the questions that we hope to address this Sunday, August 13th,  as we meet at 10:30 am for our morning time of worship. Join us as we look at this very crucial doctrine, and attempt to see the significance of it in our lives.… READ MORE

Why was Jesus human?

by Jim Jamison

One of the reasons that God became man in the form of Jesus Christ, is so that He could reveal himself to mankind. Everything God does reveals something about Himself to us. Psalm 19:1 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and firmament showeth his handiwork.” Only a fool would deny the existence of God as they study the world through the telescope or microscope. Paul reminds us in Romans 1:19-20 that God’s existence, power, and intelligence can be known by every man through nature. Yet while all these things can help us understand there is a God, nothing could help us know God unless He reveals Himself to us. Hebrews 1:1-3 reminds us of this truth when it says in verse 2, “Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds;” If we want to truly know the Father we need to examine the gospels and understand the love, compassion, and commitment of Jesus Christ. Jesus became flesh to reveal God to us. May we explore the implications of this as we meditate on His Word today.… READ MORE

The Entrance of the New Covenant – Hebrews 8:6-13
