The Purpose of the Ascension – Acts 1:1-11

by Jim Jamison

Because we do not talk much about Jesus’ Ascension we have for the most part ignored its significance, in our Daily lives.  We need to understand that the Ascension provides the divine provision for us to have deliverance over sin and the power of Satan.  In the Ascension Christ met the need to have a representative with God before the throne.   and as a result we have deliverance from Satan.  Hebrews 4:16-17 reminds us that Jesus is our High priest and is sympathetic to our struggle here on the earth.  Remember, he understands the power of temptation, and provided the resources to overcome that temptation in our lives.  as a result of his work, we have access into the very presence of God.  Not because we are worthy, but because Christ’s righteousness is imputed to us, through the Holy Spirit, which He sent to indwell those who put their faith in His redemptive work.  We will conclude this study this Sunday, October 29 at 10:30 am.  Why not plan on joining us if you can.… READ MORE
