Setting Captives Free! Ephesians 4:1-11

by Jim Jamison

As we consider the incarnation of Christ, there are many passages that are difficult for us to understand:  One, such passage that I have been asked to explain is found in Ephesians 4:8 “Therefore it says, when he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.” (ESV) What does it mean “he led a host of captives,”? Who were the captives and why did they need to be set free? This Sunday, September 2, at 10:30 am we will explore this passage and seek to understand What is going on here, and how to draw some application to our lives today. Four signs of a healthy church – Acts 2:40-47

by Jim Jamison

We encourage you to join us this week as we welcome Aaron and Stephanie Cochrell to our church.  They are missionaries with Baptist Mid-Missions and are serving on the field of Peru.  We have supported the Cochrell family for several years, and are looking forward to having them share with us concerning their ministry.  They will be sharing about their service in Peru during the Sunday School hour (9:30 am) and then will give a brief report during the morning service (10:30 am), and then Aaron will be challenging us from Acts 2:40-47 concerning the 4 signs of a healthy church.  Join us this Sunday morning, August 27th, for this timely message.  We are also planning on a bonfire, food, and a time of fellowship, at an area home, during the afternoon beginning at 3:00 pm.  Call the church (330-674-5927) for further details on that informal time designed to get to know the Cochrell family on a more personal basis.  Because of this afternoon time, we will not be having our regularly scheduled evening service.… READ MORE

Yet, if we are to be redeemed it must be by one who was “without spot or blemish.” As we continue to explore the Doctrine of Christ, it is necessary to understand that He “was tempted like as we are, yet WITHOUT SIN” (emphasis mine.). Join us this Sunday morning,August 20th, at 10:30 am, as we explore the “impeccability” (sinlessness) of Christ, and its implications in our lives… READ MORE
