Sin has caused a major struggle in our lives. People today attempt to lie for now and not the promise to come. 2 Corinthians 4:18 reminds us that, “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” In other words, the things we think we have to have or do TODAY(!), are the very things that we cast away or regret tomorrow. When we live for only today, we find no pleasure or satisfaction. When we live for what is to come, through the work of Jesus Christ, we find satisfaction, and appreciation for what we find in our lives today. Only Christ can bring that purpose in our lives. May we choose to live for Him, and recognize that true peace comes through the promises that we obtain from His Word.
