The destruction of Satan demands the return of Christ – Philippians 2:9-11

by Jim Jamison

When we left Jesus at His ascension we saw that because of His work on the cross and resurrection He defeated Satan, but that was not the final event in history regarding Satan’s fall. The world is still affected by his role on the earth, and one day we are told that God will exalt the person of Christ and ALL THINGS will give honor to Him (Philippians 2:9-11). As a result of this the Bible reminds us that the destruction of Satan (seen in Revelation 20:10) will be complete and final. This world has been given to Christ as His footstool (Hebrews 1:13), yet He has not yet reigned on the world. That truth reminds us that Christ will come to the earth, to demonstrate His love and compassion to His Kingdom. The time to turn to Him is now! Don’t wait until tomorrow, because your tomorrow may not allow you to respond in time. … READ MORE

The vindication of Chrsit demands His return – Revelation 1:7

by Jim Jamison

How do you remember Christ. Most of us focus on the work of Christ in his death to remember what He has done for us. It is inconceivable that the last public view the world would have of Christ, would be that of a bleeding, dying, crucified criminal, covered with blood, spit, and flies, hanging in a Jerusalem twilight. The indignity and shame of the crucifixion took place in full view of a scoffing crowd. It would only make sense that the coming of Christ will be in full view of the world! The Savior who was humiliated and taunted and put to death in a public display of humanity’s hatred of God will return as conquering Lord in view of the entire world. Revelation 1:7 tells us that, “Behold He comes with clouds; and EVERY EYE SHALL SEE HIM, and they also which pierced Him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen!” (Emphasis mine). The return of Christ to the earth is essential to give the world the real picture of Christ. He did die on a cross to take upon Himself the penalty for our sin, yet we often forget that … READ MORE

The Future of Israel Demands Christ’s Return – Romans 11:25-27

by Jim Jamison

Have you ever wondered why there are still Jewish people in the world today? It seems odd that a people group that has been attacked and attempted to be destroyed over the Millenia are still a thriving people group. The only explanation for this is that there is a power greater than man, that is at work in this group of people. Israel is a nation today (after almost 2000 years of exile) because God is not finished with them yet! It is this reality that demands the return of Christ. While the church is the agent that the Lord is currently using to provide salt and light to a dark and perverted world, the time will come when God will turn to the people he chose in the beginning, to be the preparatory people to point to the Messiah. Redemptive History would not be complete if the Lord does not fulfill His promises to Abraham and his descendants. According to Old Testament prophecies, the Messiah (Jesus) must rule on the Throne of David, and through Jesus all the nations of the earth will be blessed (Given to Abraham, Genesis 12). We are reminded that God cannot lie, and He … READ MORE
