All Truth is God’s Truth – Romans 1:20

by Jim Jamison

It took me a long time in my education process to recognize the importance of the statement, “All truth is God’s truth.” Even in College, I struggled to appreciate the importance of subjects like Science, Writing, Spelling, English, Social Studies, to name a few. dMy focus was on knowing the Bible and what God said in the Scriptures. However, I learned over time and education, that everything that we learn, from the splitting of the atom, to the complexities of recipes, are all things that are contained in the realm of God’s truth. Romans 1:20 tells us that “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse. Seeing the consistency of the world is an important part of our understanding of who God is. It is essential for us to see that there are things that never change so that as we come to the Word of God, we can understand the consistency of God and the power of His truths. We can deny that there are absolutes, but the reality is that there are absolutes … READ MORE

Glorifying God – 1 Corinthians 10:31

by Jim Jamison

When I was in college, I ran across 1 Corinthians 10:31 in my study, and asked myself, “What does it mean to “Glorify God?” this seemed so foreign to my thinking. . . . . How can I, a sinner, bring glory to my Lord? I spent time contemplating this thought, and as I read the scriptures, I learned that most characters in the Scripture were very similar to me, they were imperfect. I came to understand that what God wants from me is to be willing to do His Will. He wants me to live by my faith in the Son of God, who loves me and gave Himself for me. “Glorifying God” is not a mystical term that we achieve because of some magical experience. “Glorifying God” simply means, exalting Him in our life and actions. It means to give Him credit for the victories, and trusting Him in the defeats. It is turning to Him when I am weak, and remaining humble when I am strong. “Glorifying God” simply means to walk in the Spirit so that we do not fulfill the lust of the flesh. We are frail servants of our wonderful Lord, we live by … READ MORE

Waiting on the Lord – Psalm 130:5-6

by Jim Jamison

This week has been a bit of a “normal” week of ministry for me, God has been gracious in allowing me to continue to enjoy the health and energy to minister effectively.  What a great God we have, who directs our steps and provides for us in our times of need. I am reminded in Psalm 130:5-6 “I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in His word I do hope.  My soul waits for the Lord More than those who watch form the morning – Yes, more than those who watch for the morning.”  I continue to learn to wait on the Lord to work in the lives of those around me, and in the midst of my circumstances.  My hope is not found in the fact that there is new day coming, my hope is in the reality that God is always present, and always working to provide for my needs.  We are blessed to know that God’s eye is always on each of us as we travel through each day.  May you find the grace of God in the midst of your circumstances. … READ MORE
