We are reminded in 2 Thessalonians 2:13 that we worked in our lives to draw us to Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. As a member of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit has His own unique, vital, and indispensable role to perform in the creation and nurturing of the true church. We must understand that the Holy Spirit is a person, and that He desires to work with us, and within us to conform us into the image of Christ. It is our role to learn to submit to the Will of the Spirit, so that we might better understand the power of God at our disposal to live and walk in the Christian life. Walking in the Spirit is a way of life, not a one time event, we need to spend time in the work of God to “feed” our spiritual life, and to understand His Word. The amazing aspect of the Spiritual life is that it is the Holy Spirit that enables us to walk and grow in our relationship with God. It is the work of the Holy Spirit to give us spiritual life, conceived by the work of Christ, and born again through repentance of our sin. As a believer, we are enabled not by our own power but through the power of the Spirit, may we continue to learn how to walk in the Truth by the Power of the Spirit. This knowledge should provide a growing sense of gratitude toward God for His enabling presence.
