Memory, It is a blessing and a curse. It is a curse because we often live with the guilt of past sinful actions. It is a blessing because of all that we can remember because of the wonder of our minds. Luke 22:19, Jesus reminds us as we partake of the Lord’s supper, we are to do it in remembrance of Him. This time is essentially a renewal of the oath of allegiance we have taken to the King of kings. In Luke, He is establishing a memorial that the church was to continue until He returns. It is important that we take time specifically to be mindful of the things that God has done for us through the Lord Jesus Christ. We live in such a pessimistic society, it is good for us to look at the positives of our life. We are reminded of that in Philippians 4:8 were we are told to dwell on the things that are positive before us. In our Luke 22:19 passage, we are encouraged to take the time to remember what Christ has done for us. Today, if you are feeling a bit low, take a few moments and reflect on the wonder of our Savior, and what He has provide for us.
