In Romans 8:26 we saw that the Spirit is making groanings for us, but what is He groaning for? He groans for our inability, in ourselves, to overcome the discouragement of our continual battle with this flesh. I seems that we get one thing under control and another pops us. We see in this passage, that the freedom that we have from discouragement is brought on by the ministry of the Spirit in uniting with our hearts and minds in understanding the struggle that we have with sin. It is that Spirit that enables us to overcome sin, and that Spirit that strengthens us in our battle with sin. It is that Spirit that relates our true heart attitude to God in our battle against our flesh. Be encouraged my friends, God looks at our heart, more than our actions. This is not an excuse live in sin, but gives us hope as we grow in our relationship with Christ.
