According to Genesis 11:26 Creation was to submit to the rule of Man. Before sin entered the world this was an easy and pleasant assignment for Adam. It was no doubt a source of great joy. Imagine working in a garden that was sweatless, weedless, and curse-free! Adam was given both dominion over God’s creation and the responsibility to care for it. Because of sin we battle with creation today. Yet, we must understand that our working is not apart of the curse of God. We are created for a purpose, and that purpose is to be busy in our lives. It doesn’t matter how “valuable” you deem your job, or responsibilities, the fact remains that you are given a role in God’s kingdom, and it is our stewardship responsibility to serve in our capacity to the glory of God. There are no insignificant jobs in God’s kingdom, only small people who believe that what some (including themselves) contribute are not important. God created us with a purpose, and that purpose is to give life and vitality within the created realm. Today, fulfill your role, with satisfaction and purpose.
