Paul’s prayer in 2 Thessalonians 3:16 is that we might experience God’s divine peace in our lives. Its source is God and God alone. And the reality is that we cannot find that peace, nor can we earn it, it is the gift of God to us based on His grace. God’s peace is given to us in the measure that we need based of the circumstances of our loves, and according to 2 Corinthians 12 is sufficient for our need. As we learn to trust God’s Word and God’s Person we find the strength we need to face all the issues of life. Jesus said in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with your, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” There is no greater gift for the anxious mind than living in God’s peace. We must remember that there is always enough available peace to satisfy the need we have, in the moment. Learn to trust the Lord, and trust what He has given to us through His Word, knowing that His Word is built upon His person.
