Imagine a world dominated by righteousness and goodness, while this may seem far-fetched, it accurately describes conditions during the future earthly kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ. The thousand-year reign of the Savior over the earth is the divinely planned and promised culmination of all the redemptive history and the realization of the hope of all the saints of all the ages. There is questions as to whether you should take the prophecies of the Millennium literally, yet there is no valid reason for making this symbolic or figurative. In Revelation 20:3, we are told that the time of this reign of Jesus on the throne of David, is 1,000 years. Why is this important? It is important because it reminds us that God will fulfill the Old Testament promises to His people, through Abraham, David, and others. It is essential for us to understand that what God says He will do. That reality, gives us hope and perspective for our future! We can trust the Lord to do what He says He will do. This should bring us great comfort in our lives.
