In John 13:1-17 Jesus challenged his disciples, by girding on a towel and washing their feet. He told them in verse 15 “I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.” The key here is not the washing of the feet, but the willingness to be a servant to those who are around us. Servanthood, is the supreme act of humility, Jesus was saying not only by his words, but also by His actions, that what we do i9s as important as what we believe and how we act. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us, “What know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit which are God’s.” As a follower of Jesus Christ, we are a living examples for others to be directed toward our Heavenly Father. We need to understand that our actions will truly display our beliefs. We are reminded in Proverbs 23:7, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he: . . .” What does your actions say about your heart?
