Created lower than Whom? – Psalm 8:5

by Jim Jamison

Psalm 8:5 reminds us that we were the unique creation of God. Each of us bears in our body the image of God, and are therefore, important not only to God, but also to all of the created realm. God created us for a purpose (Psalm 8:6-8) and as such we are to carry out that purpose for Him each day. When we look in the mirror, the person looking back at us is special. Do not allow those around you to shape your opinion of yourself, nor allow them to make you think you are less than what God views you to be. Always remember that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to provide redemption for you. He did not provide opportunity for animals to repent, nor the trees or grass around you. Jesus died for YOU AND ME! The reason for this is the importance that God places on all people. It matters not if you are as smart as the people around you. It matters not if you are deemed by society as more valuable than others. It doesn’t even matter what you think about yourself. Jesus Died to provide salvation for those who … READ MORE

What is Man?- Psalm 4:8

by Jim Jamison

Psalm 8:4 asks an important question in the scope of Scripture, “What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man that thou visited him?” How wonderful God is, He is more interested in people that He is in planets, more interested in souls than in the starts, and more interested in us than the universe! Why is that? It is because He has created us to be His representative in this world. He has created us special and unique, and because of that all human life is important to him, no matter how insignificant it may seem to others. In a study of how God views man, it is important to understand that not only does God love you, as you are, He loves you enough to help you truly become what you can be! Growth can be hard, and difficult, but we never have to learn on our own. He is always here, and always walking beside us during every event of our lives. With His direction, we can face the most difficult circumstances, because He will enable us. Remember, God not only knows you exist, He knows you by your name . . … READ MORE

The Lord’s Table – 1 Corinthians 11:24-25

by Jim Jamison

Why do we celebrate the Lord’s table on a regular basis? I Corinthians 11:24-25 reminds us that we are to “do this in remembrance of me. We often struggle with the reality of our sins, we come to the Lord for forgiveness and then find ourselves struggling to deal with our imperfections. I am so grateful to know that God does not require perfection (only He is perfect), but He does require growth that moves us toward maturity. We participate at the Lord’s table because we must remind ourselves, that we must constantly come back to the cross for forgiveness. This is not because we loose our salvation, but to humbly be reminded of what the basis of our entrance into heaven is – God’s Grace. Live in grace of God and the forgiveness that He provides for us, and offers us through Jesus Christ.… READ MORE
