Our children have worked hard to learn verses, study the Word of God, and have fun during the AWANA season for 2017-18, now is our opportunity to support and encourage our children. Winning the Battle over discouragement – Romans 8:18-27

When we had the control of our lives over to the direction of the Holy Spirit, we will be led in our prayers, even as Christ Himself was lead. Intercession made according to the will of God will be met by definite and positive answers. It is not through our power we have authority with God, it is through our dependence of the Spirit of God that dwells within us. While it may not seem that prayer changes things, it will work at changing us. Living in Hope – Romans 8:26

In Romans 8:26 we saw that the Spirit is making groanings for us, but what is He groaning for? He groans for our inability, in ourselves, to overcome the discouragement of our continual battle with this flesh. I seems that we get one thing under control and another pops us. We see in this passage, that the freedom that we have from discouragement is brought on by the ministry of the Spirit in uniting with our hearts and minds in understanding the struggle that we have with sin. It is that Spirit that enables us to overcome sin, and that Spirit that strengthens us in our battle with sin. It is that Spirit that relates our true heart attitude to God in our battle against our flesh. Be encouraged my friends, God looks at our heart, more than our actions. This is not an excuse live in sin, but gives us hope as we grow in our relationship with Christ.… READ MORE
