The Commands for Victory – 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

by Jim Jamison

Satan and his army will continue to assault the work that God is attempting to accomplish in the life of a follower of Jesus, until our ultimate victory is fully realized in glory. This means that we can count on facing battles and skirmishes every day of our lives. The important issue is that we are ready to respond to the attacks of Satan. 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 gives us 5 commands to stand against the temptations that will come our way! With that he took a pitcher of water and poured it over the sand, pebbles, and the larger rocks . . … READ MORE

We need to be confronted by the Word of God outside of our own thinking. Not to find new and exciting truths (although that may happen), but because we have the uncanny ability to justify our behavior. Hearing the truth proclaimed by another person, causes us to view a portion of Scripture in a different light. The Spirit of God often takes those messages, and convicts and convinces us of His truths in our lives. The confrontation of the Word of God stimulates us to greater godliness! Yet often in our own approach to … READ MORE
