What is it that is holding you back from living a life of faith? Hebrews 12:1 reminds us that we are to “lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and … run with patience the race that is set before us.” We want the race of life to be a sprint, but the reality is that it is a marathon. Our actions reveal what we really believe about God, If we believe that God will supply all our need, we will live accordingly, Doubt of God and His Word never comes from God, and we must recognize that the Bible is the basis of our life and practice. Every time we sin, it is because we believe Satan instead of God. That is why the writer of Hebrews wanted believers to get rid of their doubts and anything else that hinders them and run this marathon with confidence, realizing that we have excellent examples of people who lived the same life of faith. We are reminded that those who are mentioned in Hebrews 11, lived their life of faith without the example of Jesus Christ, today, we have that living example, so that we are without excuse. What is it that is keeping you from living by faith? I encourage you today, to begin to “lay it aside,” stop making excuses and choose today to follow Christ.
